Emergency Department

Our campuses in Chatham and Wallaceburg offer 24-hour Emergency care, 7 days a week.

At the Chatham campus we have 3 Trauma Resuscitation bays, 6 major acute patient care beds, 4 short stay / observation beds, 7 minor treatment beds and 2 private examination rooms and 4 chairs for low acuity. We have a sexual assault treatment centre, and in-department mental health crisis service. Annual visits to this ED total 49,000 per year.

The department is staffed with support staff, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Nurse Practitioners , Advance Practice Leader , Emergency Physicians and Specialists.

At Sydenham Campus we have 2 major and resuscitation beds and 7 acute minor beds. Annual visits to this ED total 22,000 per year.

Staffing includes Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Physicians and Advance Practice Leader.
