REGISTERED NURSE

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (Home site is 80 Grand Ave)

Working both 80 Grand Ave and Wallaceburg Campus

REGULAR PART TIME ( 2 Positions)

 

 

REPORTS TO: Clinical Manager, Emergency

 

POSITION SUMMARY

·         Communication through an interdisciplinary approach in planning and implementing nursing care Team leading.

·         Administration of medications both Adult and Paediatric patient.

·         Interpretation of cardiac rhythm strips.

·         Participation on various hospital committees.

·         Participate/direct as an active member of the cardiac arrest team.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

·         BScN preferred.

·         Current BCLS certification.

·         Minimum 3 years Emergency experience.

·         Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale Education.

·         IV certification.

·         Certification in delegated medical acts and added nursing skills in Emergency.

·         Cardiac module of Critical Care Course or equivalent required, within past five (5) years.

·         Certification in ACLS.

·         Certification in TNCC (Trauma Nursing Care Course).

·         Health teaching skills that demonstrate a broad knowledge of Adult and Paediatric Emergency Care.

·         Demonstrated problem solving skills, communication skills and critical thinking skills.

·         Satisfactory attendance.

·         Demonstrate interest in the development of the Nursing profession.

·         Strong personal commitment to continuous quality improvement.

·         Interacts with others in a way that advances the goals of the organization through co-operative working relations.

·         Demonstrates skills in collaboration with other disciplines to best meet the needs of both the Adult and  Paediatric Emergency patient and their family.                                                             

·         Demonstrated participation in building a culture of safety and partnering with each other to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems.

·         Demonstrated performance reflecting the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

According to the French Language Services Implementation Plan, priority consideration will be given to qualified candidates who possess knowledge of Canada’s two official languages.
