REGISTERED NURSE

WOMEN & CHILDREN’S HEALTH

REGULAR PART TIME (2 Positions)

 

REPORTS TO: CLINICAL MANAGER, WOMEN & CHILDREN’S HEALTH

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

·         Communication through an interdisciplinary approach with families in planning and implementing care delivery.

·         Collaborate with Health Care Professionals in the development of Perinatal/Paediatric/Surgical standards of care.

·         Participation on various hospital committees.

·         Acts as a patient advocate through his/her actions with other health care providers and community agencies

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

·         BScN preferred.

·         Current BCLS.

·         Recent Perinatal (includes antepartum care, intrapartum care, Post Partum care, Level II Nursery, scrub & recovery ) experience required within the last 2 years (includes health teaching & psychosocial assessment).

·         Recent Paediatric experience required in the last 2 years (includes health teaching & psychosocial assessment).

·         Recent Gyneacological Surgical experience required within the last 2 years (includes health teaching & psychosocial assessment).

·         Completion of Fetal Health Surveillance education course.

·         Recent experience in Fetal Health Surveillance preferred within the last 2 years.

·         IV certification.

·         Certification in added nursing skills required for caring for Perinatal/Paediatrics patients.

·         Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation.

·         Demonstrated problem solving skills.

·         Certification in Paediatric advanced life support (PALS) preferred.

·         Perinatal Outreach Perinatal Education course preferred.

·         Perinatal Nursing Certification preferred.

·         Completion of Breastfeeding Education Course preferred.

·         Satisfactory attendance.

·         Demonstrates interest in the development of the Nursing profession and ongoing learning.

·         Strong personal commitment to continuous quality improvement.

·         Interacts with others in a way that advances the goals of the organization through co-operative working relations.

·         Demonstrates skills in collaboration with other disciplines to best meet the needs of Perinatal/Paediatric/Surgical patients and their families.

·         Supports practice in the principles of Family Centered Care and Single Room Maternity Care.

·         Demonstrated ability to support and embrace the philosophy of Service Excellence and Patient and Family Centred Care.

·         Demonstrated participation in building a culture of safety and partnering with each other to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems.

·         Demonstrated performance reflecting the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
