At last night’s meeting of the Tri-Board of St. Joseph’s, Public General and Sydenham District Hospitals, Directors:

  • Heard highlights of each Program within the portfolio of Vice President / Chief Financial Officer, Paul Heinrich.
  • Supported development of a Master Program / Master Plan and role review to address facility functionality and deficiencies at Chatham and Wallaceburg campuses. The Master Program will describe the facilities current and future role, current and projected programs, staffing and departmental space requirements. The Master Plan translates that Master Program into a physical plan, site use options, site plans and building development, renovation or replacement needs. Following the RFP process, the Tri-Board’s Finance committee endorsed awarding the 6-month study to the consulting firm, Cohos Evamy.
  • Received financial statements for the five months ended August 31st noting improvement to the forecasted year end deficit position as a result of expenditure constraints and controls implemented during August. These measures, along with other initiatives will continue over the balance of the year and beyond to improve financial health.
  • Heard a report from the Tri-Board Mission & Quality Committee. As part of its September meeting, Directors were updated on the functions of the Occupational Health & Safety Department with responsibilities including communicable disease surveillance, safety, disability management, WSIB claims management, and legislative compliance.
