Chatham-Kent Health Alliance & Chatham-Kent Family Health Team Announce New Family Doctor in Dresden

Chatham-Kent, April 28, 2014 -- Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, along with the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team, today welcome Dr. Imran Ibrahim*.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Ibrahim join our team,” says Laura Johnson, Executive Director of Chatham-Kent Family Health Team. “The news that he will be joining the Dresden site is wonderful. We are aware of the need for family physicians and are continually recruiting for patients that do not have a family doctor. We are excited to have him and his family as part of our medical community.”

Dr. Ibrahim studied at the University of Punjab Lahore in Pakistan. He spent several years practicing in the UK before moving to Saskatchewan where he practiced as well.

“Our family chose Chatham-Kent to practice because we fell in love with the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I have been practicing in Saskatchewan for a few years and had been looking to make the transition to Ontario for some time,” says Dr. Ibrahim. “After a visit to the area and speaking with colleagues who are already practicing here, we knew it would be a perfect fit. The Chatham-Kent Family Health Team provides the setting I want to practice in. As well, the opportunity to provide care in the Emergency Departments, both in Chatham and Wallaceburg, is very important to my practice model. We are very happy to be here and look forward to meeting my new patients soon.”

Dr. Ibrahim will be practicing as an Emergency Department physician at both of CKHA’s Campuses.

“Dr. Ibrahim is a welcome addition to our Emergency Department and to our community. We have been working together to make the transition seamless and I believe we have been successful,” says Fannie Vavoulis, Medical Recruiter & Education Coordinator for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. “He and his family have already been welcomed with open arms and they are thrilled to be part of our community.”
