New Volunteers Join Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Board of Directors - Sydenham District Hospital

CHATHAM-KENT: July 9, 2015 -- Following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on June 25, 2015, the newly constituted Sydenham District Hospital Board of Directors held a meeting to complete the election of officers. The new board is as follows:

Public General Hospital and St. Joseph's Health Services Celebrate New Governance Model

CHATHAM-KENT: June 23, 2015 -- Today, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) announced a new direction in governance that will better meet the current and future needs of the organization, the patients it serves and the community at large. Following the Annual Report to the community, Public General Hospital Society of Chatham and St. Joseph's Health Services Association publicly announced their voluntary integration to become a single entity.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Services Altered for Canada Day - Wednesday, July 1, 2015

CHATHAM-KENT: June 22, 2015 -- Some healthcare services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (Chatham & Wallaceburg campuses) will be altered Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in recognition of Canada Day.

Routine X-rays, electrocardiograms (EKG), and ultrasounds will not be available on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. These departments will be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's Strategic Plan First Year is on Target

CHATHAM-KENT: June 18, 2015 -- As with all organizations, the Strategic Plan guides the organization's focus and operations throughout its existence. This year, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is pleased to share its 'Year 1 Update' with the community. The document outlines how the organization operationalized its plan as well as how it is tracking against its strategic directions. The report also offers specific examples of actions put in place throughout the organization to support the plan. 

CKHA Wins National Energy and Environmental Stewardship Award

CHATHAM-KENT: June 15, 2015 - Last evening, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance was honoured by the Canadian College of Health Leaders with its national Energy and Environmental Stewardship Award. This award recognizes a progressive healthcare organization, with organizational-wide initiatives that demonstrate environmental responsibility through the reduction of energy usage, the preservation of natural resources and effective waste diversion solutions. CKHA accepted the award at the College's national conference in Prince Edward Island.

Chatham Host to First In Ontario Stoke Survivor Congress

Chatham-Kent: June 12, 2015 -- Today, attendees of Ontario's first Stroke Survivor Congress, received the gifts of inspiration, insight and information to improve the journey for current and future stroke survivors. Powerful topics for stroke survivors, accentuated by an incredible caliber of talented international, provincial and local speakers who were willing to share their expertise, were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of over 150 people. By all accounts the day was a resounding success.

Paula Reaume-Zimmer Recognized for Outstanding Dedication and Leadership in Mental Health

CHATHAM-KENT: April 27, 2015 -- Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) and Canadian Mental Health Association - Lambton Kent (CMHA-LK) is pleased to announce that their Integrated Director of Operations for Mental Health and Addictions, Paula Reaume-Zimmer, received the Jane Chamberlin Award from the Association of General Hospital Psychiatric Services (AGHPS).
