Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Welcomes New Physicians
CHATHAM-KENT: November 22, 2021 – Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is pleased to announce the addition of new physicians to the organization. Dr. Matthew Renaud joins CKHA as an Emergency Medicine Physician, Dr. Yasser Soliman joins the Paediatrics department and Dr. Stacey Speer joins as a Radiologist.
“We are pleased to welcome Doctors Renaud, Soliman and Speer to our clinical team and the community of Chatham-Kent,” said Dr. Pervez Faruqi, Chief of Staff, CKHA. “Their contributions to our programs and services will be a great addition to CKHA and help us further our commitment to delivering Patient and Family Centred Care.”
Dr. Matthew Renaud has joined the Department of Emergency Medicine full-time. Dr. Renaud first came to CKHA to begin his one-year residency in July 2020 as part of Western University’s Canadian College of Family Physicians – Emergency Medicine Program (CCFP-EM). Dr. Renaud has successfully completed his residency in June 2021 and will now be working alongside the team in Emergency Medicine. The Department of Emergency Medicine as well as CKHA welcomes Dr. Renaud and is excited to have him be part of the team.
Dr. Yasser Soliman has recently decided to join the Paediatrics department of CKHA. As a Neonatologist by training in renowned Canadian centres, and an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics, Dr. Soliman brings over 12 years of experience to CKHA. He has been recognized for dedication to medical education in three Canadian universities due to his commitment to teaching the next generation of physicians.
Dr. Soliman earned his Medical Degree in Egypt and received his Fellowship in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine at the University of Calgary and his Fellowship in Neonatal Transport Medicine at the University of Toronto. Prior to his family’s recent move to Southwestern Ontario, he practiced in both Toronto and in the province of New Brunswick. Dr. Soliman is now accepting patient referrals and is located at the Chatham-Kent Child and Adolescent Clinic, 202 King St. West in Chatham. His office can be reached at 519.358.1880.
“I have felt very welcomed and supported by my colleagues here at CKHA,” said Dr. Soliman. “I have four children so Chatham-Kent was appealing to me to raise my family as well as have access to the bigger centres nearby.”
Dr. Stacey Speer grew up just outside of Thunder Bay in the town of Schreiber, Ontario. She began her medical training in nursing at Confederation College and Lakehead University. She then proceeded to get her Masters of Nursing at Athabasca and then her Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing from Western University. In August of 2010 she decided to attend medical school and received her Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University in May of 2013. Since then, Dr. Speer completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Western University and then began working at London X-Ray Associates.
“Coming from a small rural community, it feels wonderful to move to an area that reminds me so much of my roots. I’m looking forward to making a home here in Chatham-Kent and getting to know my new neighbours,” said Dr. Speer.
