COVID-19 Outbreak Declared on Rehabilitation Unit at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance
CHATHAM-KENT: January 3, 2023 – As of January 3, 2023, 4 cases of health-care acquired COVID-19 were identified on Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s (CKHA) Rehabilitation Unit located at the Chatham Site. As such, CK Public Health has formally declared the Rehabilitation Unit to be in outbreak. CKHA’s Medicine A and B units at the Chatham Site also remain in active outbreak.
CK Public Health will work closely with CKHA to manage the outbreak within the Rehabilitation Unit and will continue to work in consultation until the outbreak is declared over.
As part of CKHA’s pandemic response action plan and in alignment with the hospital’s infection prevention and control guidelines, a number of additional initiatives have been implemented in response to the outbreak on the Rehabilitation Unit. CKHA will continue following these measures until CK Public Health rescinds the outbreak order.
