ICU / PCU

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) cares for critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation, chemical life support, advanced monitoring, and specialized physician and nursing care. 

In the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), cares for patients that require close cardiac monitoring and nursing observation.

Multidisciplinary care is delivered by other providers such as Respiratory Therapists, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Dietitians, Speech and Language Pathologists. Patients and family members are encouraged to ask questions of any team member and to be present during multidisciplinary rounds.
