What can I expect from my first day?
On the first day in the Rehabilitation Unit, you will get to know the interdisciplinary team, spend time learning the routine (mealtimes, therapy schedule) and receive encouragement and support for participation in self-care. A “Welcome to Rehab” booklet is presented to each patient and family when you arrive on the unit.
What does Rehabilitation involve?
You will work closely with the Rehabilitation Team to complete assessments and develop a program to achieve your goals. Individual therapy sessions will be scheduled on a regular basis. You may be requested to perform some tasks on your own in order to reach your therapy goals. Family members are essential in reaching your therapy goals. They may take you out on passes and help with your therapy program.
Are there laundry facilities on site and who is responsible for cleaning my clothes?
Is there a cost to use equipment in the Rehabilitation Unit? (i.e. wheelchair, walker, etc.)
