Operating Room (OR)

The Operating Room (OR) is a highly controlled, sterile environment where surgical procedures take place. It is staffed by surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses who work collaboratively to ensure patient safety. Key responsibilities in the OR include maintaining safe and sterile conditions for surgery, coordinating the surgical team, monitoring patients under anesthesia, preventing infection, and managing instruments, equipment, and workflow efficiently.

Endoscopy
Endoscopy involves diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using specialized scopes and cameras to visualize internal organs, often through natural openings. This area focuses on performing procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies, utilizing minimally invasive equipment, providing sedation or anesthesia when necessary, monitoring patients throughout the process, and supporting interventions like biopsies and polyp removal.

Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is where patients recover immediately after surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia. PACU functions similarly to an ICU-level environment due to the potential instability of patients during recovery. Core responsibilities include monitoring vital signs as patients wake up, managing pain, nausea, airway, and overall stability, detecting early complications, ensuring readiness for discharge or transfer, and offering emotional support during recovery.
